Cape Town Pride’s Official Beneficiary

The Pride Shelter Trust is a non-profit, section 21 company established to raise funds for the establishment of a shelter offering safe short-term accommodation the gay, lesbian and transgender people during crisis periods, in Cape Town . The organisation was founded by Glenn de Swardt, current chairperson of Cape Town Pride, and to date has focused purely on fund-raising to make this unique shelter a reality.

The Pride Shelter Trust has raised over one million Rands, and has been waiting for the City of Cape Town to provide a building to accommodate the shelter. A building has been allocated to the organization, in the form of a substantial house, located at 1 Molteno Road , Oranjezicht, Cape Town , as of 1 February 2010!

Cape Town Pride will continue to support this worthy cause and will assist in furnishing the new shelter. By supporting Pride, you’ll also be supporting our official beneficiary.
